How It All Started

My name is Ayodele Daisi Samuel, and I am the founder of Craftdas.

But before Craftdas existed, I was just a creator trying to find my way. I made mistakes. I failed. I walked away. And then I came back.

This is my story. The story of why I built Craftdas.

The First Blog: 2017

In 2017, I opened a blog with no plan and no name for what I was doing. I only knew Nigerian entertainment gossip and news moved fast, and I wanted to be the one moving it.

I didn't know what a niche was. I didn't know what AdSense was, beyond the fact that other blogs seemed to run ads and I wanted mine to as well.

I applied for AdSense more times than I want to admit. I was never approved on that blog — not once.

But I kept going. I kept writing. I kept publishing.

The First Monetisation Lesson

After being rejected by AdSense multiple times, I did what any stubborn 2017 blogger with a growing readership does: I found another way to get paid.

I started charging upcoming artists to feature their songs and stories on my site. It worked. It was scrappy, unconventional, and it taught me the first real lesson of my blogging life.

If one door won't open, you build another one.

That lesson would stay with me for years. It would eventually become the foundation of Craftdas.

The Stolen Phone: 2018

Then in 2018, my phone was stolen.

With it went my logins, my drafts, my momentum — and if I am honest — my will to keep going.

Everything I had built was on that device. My audience. My work. My progress. Gone in an instant.

I walked away from blogging for years.

Walking Away for Years

After my phone was stolen, I gave up. I convinced myself that blogging wasn't for me. That I had failed. That it was over.

I walked away. I focused on other things. I tried to forget about the blog that had been my passion.

But the itch never really went away. The desire to create, to share, to build something meaningful — it stayed with me.

Seven years passed.

The Return: 2025

In 2025, I came back.

I built a new site from nothing. New niche. New name. None of the shortcuts I'd relied on before.

And this time, AdSense approved me in four weeks. It felt like vindication after years of silent rejection.

But then, something else happened.

The Fourteen-Month Silence

From April 2025 to July 2026, my new posts simply would not index. Fourteen months of publishing into what felt like a void.

I kept publishing anyway. Because by then I finally understood something I hadn't in 2017 — that indexing delays and algorithm silence are not verdicts, they're just weather.

I wrote. I published. I waited. I kept going.

The Breakthrough: 580 Pages Indexed

Then, without warning, Google indexed 580 pages of my site at once.

Fourteen months of "nothing is happening" turned into one afternoon of everything happening.

That single event is the reason Craftdas exists. It's what pushed me from writing posts to building a platform — so other beginners wouldn't have to guess their way through the same fourteen months I did.

After that breakthrough, I realised something profound: creators shouldn't have to struggle the way I did.
